Tyrrell were controversially thrown out of the 1984 season
  • 40 years ago today the FIA allowed Tyrrell back into the world championship, having banned them the previous year, claiming they’d broken the rules by adding fuel to their car when replenishing its ballast
  • 20 years ago today Giancarlo Fisichella won the season-opening Australian Grand Prix for Renault ahead Rubens Barrichello, Fernando Alonso and David Coulthard, the latter taking fourth for Red Bull on their debut
