Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), started the Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar initiative in July 2024 as part of its commitment to empowering women in the mobility sector. As part of this initiative, MLMML has supported trained women beneficiaries in obtaining their three- and four-wheeler licenses.

Skilling and supporting

In total, 245 women were skilled on three courses such as 3W/4W driving, customer care executive and EV repair & maintenance. This pioneering programme has trained 52 women to drive three- and four-wheelers, equipping them with the skills and resources to build sustainable livelihoods and achieve financial independence. MLMML also facilitated the licensing process and, in collaboration with financial institutions, extended loan opportunities to help these women.

This initiative has also upskilled 185 women as customer care executives and eight women in EV repair and maintenance skills. The women received hands-on training on electric three-wheelers, general EV education, and financial consultation. Many of these women have secured placements, creating long-term employment opportunities.

Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar initiative was initially run as a pilot programme in Bengaluru. Given its success, MLMML is set to expand to other cities, reinforcing the company’s vision of being inclusive and driving positive change under its CSR initiative. MLMML’s training partner in this initiative was Lok Bharti Education Society.
