The Kia Stinger didn’t live a long life, but it sure made its mark on the car community. It was a fun rear-wheel drive sedan with proper road manners and interesting styling, so ever since its demise in 2023, rumors have been flying around about a potential replacement.
Kia never said that it would resurrect the Stinger, but the company’s President, Ho-sung Song, said last year that an all-new, electrified version of the beloved sedan was “under study.” That added plenty of fuel to the rumor fire, and now Kia is at it again, with the reveal of the Vision Meta Turismo concept.

To be clear, the South Korean automaker didn’t say that the gold four-door fastback has anything to do with the Stinger nameplate, but logic dictates that this would be the right direction for it. Instead, the company described the concept car as the embodiment of its “vision for a new era of mobility.”
It looks like a car from the future that somehow made its way to 2025, with plenty of angles on the bodywork, slim lights at the front and rear, plenty of windows and a lounge-like interior. A tiny square instrument cluster sits in front of the D-shaped steering wheel, and an augmented-reality head-up display delivers three-dimensional virtual graphics onto the base of the windshield.

The driver also has a jet-fighter-like joystick, which presumably houses some controls, but Kia didn’t offer any details about its role. The driver’s section, including the seat and dash, is draped in the same gold color as the exterior, while the rest of the cabin is while, which makes for a really airy feel. The multitude of windows also helps.
There’s no word on what powers the Kia Vision Meta Turismo concept, but judging from the really short front and rear overhangs, this is clearly meant to be an EV. There’s also no confirmation that the edgy lounge on wheels is heading to production.
What we do know is that the futuristic show car is a gift from Kia to itself for its 80th anniversary. Technically, the automaker turned 81 this year, seeing how the original company, Kyungsung Precision Industry, was founded in 1944 by Kim Cheol-ho. The firm was named Kia in 1952, when its first mobility product, the 3000-LIho bicycle, was introduced. The first Kia-branded car, the Brisa, became a reality in 1974.
