Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapur, have filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking recognition as legal heirs to the assets of late Sona Comstar Chairman Sunjay Kapur, reportedly valued at about ₹30,000 crore.

Petition seeks Class I heir status

The siblings, through their mother Karisma Kapoor, have asked the court to recognise them as Class I heirs and to grant each a one-fifth share of the estate, IANS reported. The petition names Sunjay Kapur’s widow Priya Kapur, their son, his mother Rani Kapur, and Shradha Suri Marwah, the reported executor of the will, as respondents. The petition alleges that Priya Kapur’s actions aim to “usurp full control” of the estate and exclude the legal heirs. It also seeks an interim order to freeze Sunjay Kapur’s personal assets to prevent dissipation of wealth while the matter is under dispute.

Allegations of forged will

The petition claims that Priya Kapur conspired with associates Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma to withhold the will for more than seven weeks before presenting it at a family meeting on 30 July. The children allege that the document shown was forged and that the original will was deliberately concealed to deny them their share.Sunjay Kapur, who was married to Karisma Kapoor for 13 years, died in the United Kingdom in June this year while playing polo.
