Tesla had filed a criminal complaint accusing a union member of secretly recording a February 10 meeting, a claim IG Metall called a “calculated lie.”

Tesla and German union IG Metall have agreed for now to set aside their dispute over a labour meeting at ‌the carmaker’s plant outside Berlin this month, the union said on Thursday. Tesla had filed a criminal complaint against a member of the union it accused of secretly recording the meeting on February 10. IG Metall described ‌the allegation as a “calculated lie”.

IG Metall said the two sides have agreed not to repeat those allegations and comments until the end of the plant’s works council election next Wednesday.

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

IG Metall said the ‌agreement was reached in a Frankfurt an der Oder labour court on Thursday.

“Now, just a few days before the works council election, we can concentrate fully on the issues (over working conditions) … there’s a lot to do,” said local IG Metall leader Jan Otto.
