Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has named Niranjan Gupta, former Chief Executive Officer of Hero MotoCorp, as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective November 1. He will succeed Ritesh Tiwari, who has been elevated to a global role at parent company Unilever.
Tiwari, who has served as HUL’s CFO since 2021, will take over as Global Head of M&A and Treasury of Unilever, based in London, also from November 1, stated the company’s regulatory filings.
The leadership changes at India’s largest consumer goods maker come just weeks after the company appointed Priya Nair as its new Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of Rohit Jawa.Gupta, a seasoned finance professional, brings over three decades of experience across FMCG and automotive industries. Before joining Hero MotoCorp in 2017, he worked with companies including Vedanta and Unilever.The appointment marks a return to Unilever for Gupta, who had earlier served in various finance leadership roles within the group.
HUL said the transition underscores its focus on strengthening leadership capabilities as it navigates evolving consumer preferences and macroeconomic challenges in one of Unilever’s most critical growth markets.
