New Delhi: Delhivery on Monday announced a strategic partnership with electric mobility start-up RIDEV to deploy 150 high-performance electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its push to accelerate electrification of its last-mile fleet. The deployment, scheduled over the next three months across the North East, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, marks a step forward in the company’s roadmap to scale green logistics operations. The collaboration introduces an “EV-as-a-Service” leasing model aimed at easing the transition for delivery partners. The model seeks to eliminate high upfront costs and technical barriers, enabling gig workers to adopt electric mobility without significant capital expenditure.Delhivery currently operates nearly 1,000 electric two-, three- and four-wheelers across its network. The latest partnership signals a broader shift towards a systematic replacement of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles with EVs.

“Electrification is a fundamental shift in our approach to last-mile logistics,” said Prashant Gazipur, Senior Vice President – Last Mile Operations at Delhivery. He added that the partnership would provide delivery partners with a low-friction entry into electric mobility while supporting the company’s carbon neutrality goals.

Manish Kumar Jain, Founder of RIDEV, said integrating its technology-backed fleet into Delhivery’s network would accelerate the transition to green logistics and simplify daily operations for gig workers by managing energy and maintenance requirements.

Delhivery said the initiative forms part of its strategy to decarbonise its urban delivery network. Following the current rollout, a phased expansion is planned across major hubs including Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Goa.
