Centre releases ₹1,634 crore under PM E-DRIVE: Govt

The government has disbursed a total subsidy of ₹1,634.62 crore under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme as of November 23, 2025, the Ministry of Heavy Industries said on Tuesday.

An allocation of ₹500 crore has been earmarked for e-ambulances under the scheme. The scheme’s duration for e-ambulances has been extended to March 31, 2028, while support for electric two-wheelers (e2Ws) and three-wheelers (e3Ws) remains valid until March 31, 2026, Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

The PM E-DRIVE initiative also allocates ₹2,000 crore to help develop public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. As of November 23, 2025, no grants have yet been disbursed for EV charging infrastructure, while two oil-marketing companies have shown interest and submitted proposals under the programme.

Under the scheme, 1,500 e-buses have been allocated for Mumbai, 2,800 e-buses for Delhi, and 1,000 e-buses for Pune (Maharashtra).
