How often does a Formula 1 driver find themselves racing against their own manager? That’s exactly what happened last year with Gabriel Bortoleto and his manager, two-times world champion Fernando Alonso.
The pair head into 2026 with high hopes that their respective teams have prepared well for the change in regulations. Alonso’s Aston Martin team will have exclusive use of Honda’s power units while Bortoleto drives for Audi’s works team which has taken over Sauber.
