New Delhi:

The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) is showcasing its Skill Exhibition and Try-a-Skill Zone at DIDAC India 2025, highlighting a new wave of technology-led training tools designed to build future-ready talent for the automotive sector. The three-day event at Yashobhoomi – India International Convention & Expo Centre has drawn strong interest from students, educators, industry leaders, and training partners. The Skill Exhibition features live demonstrations mapped to IndiaSkills 2025 and WorldSkills International standards, with competitors displaying advanced capabilities in Automobile Technology and Additive Manufacturing. The Try-a-Skill Zone emerged as a major draw, offering immersive hands-on sessions through AR-based setups such as the Soldamatic augmented reality (AR) Welding Simulator and Pintamatic AR Painting Simulator. Live workshops in autobody repair — including glue pull repair and aluminium panel techniques — allowed participants to engage across multiple difficulty levels, guided by real-time analytics and digital feedback. The showcase comes amid an escalating demand for skilled welders and automotive painters in India, even as the industry faces persistent talent shortages. Traditional welding labs require significant capital investment and recurring consumable costs, making AR-enabled training a safer, more affordable, and scalable alternative. ASDC is using DIDAC 2025 to demonstrate how simulation-led learning can help bridge this gap and support Industry 4.0 workforce needs.”India is facing a severe shortage of skilled welders and automotive painters. Through this exhibition, ASDC aims to showcase how advanced simulation tools and experiential learning can bridge this gap and create a future-ready talent pool for our automotive sector,” said Vinkesh Gulati, Chairperson, ASDC.
