India and Germany discussed expanding cooperation in smart manufacturing, electric mobility and advanced industrial technologies during a meeting between officials from the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) and a German delegation led by Ernst Stöckl-Pukall, Head of BMWE, German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.

The delegation, which also included representatives from the German Embassy in New Delhi, VDMA India and Siemens, met Hanif Qureshi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, along with senior MHI officials.

The discussions focused on the introduction of International Manufacturing-X (IMX), opportunities around Dataspaces in the Indian manufacturing sector, and strengthening bilateral collaboration in the automotive industry, electric mobility and decarbonisation initiatives.

According to the ministry, both sides explored opportunities in technology partnerships, skill development, investment prospects, and joint ventures to support the transition towards sustainable, digitally connected manufacturing ecosystems.
